We are seeking Deputy Ward Managers to help drive the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care across Rampton Hospital.
As a Deputy Ward Manager, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Ward Manager with operational leadership, clinical oversight, and staff development. You will help to foster a culture of safety, inclusion, and continuous improvement, ensuring the highest standards of care for our patients, and promoting a positive, supportive working environment for staff.

You will have responsibility for your own line management team and will gain valuable experience in managing people, processes, and policies, contributing to the ongoing development and excellence of our services.
Main duties of the job
To function as a key member of the ward management team assisting the Ward Manager to manage operational and clinical day to day activity of a ward requirements.
To actively support the Ward Manager in fulfilling all the Key Result Areas and responsibilities associated with their Clinical/Management role, deputising for the ward manager in their absence.
To support in the running of a twenty-four hour responsibility for the delivery of all ward services including all clinical and security issues
To demonstrate active clinical and managerial leadership skills within the team, providing education and supervision to junior staff members and other professionals to ensure that the highest standards of care are delivered to patients in their care.
Practices which foster and develop multi-disciplinary working will be implemented in all aspects of clinical practice.

Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. The cost of the DBS application is £26.40 (standard) or £54.40 (enhanced), this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first 2 months of employment.
You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. An annual fee of £16 per year applies.

- Registered Mental Health Nurse NMC registration in date
Desirable criteria
- Demonstrate continued professional development to maintain registration
Experience
Essential criteria
- Post registration experience as a Registered Nurse.
Desirable criteria
- The ability to deal with and resolve conflict
- Experience of working affectively within an MDT
Training
Essential criteria
- Willingness to undertake new clinical practices, education and training to enhance service delivery
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Knowledge and understanding of current legislation and understanding of clinical risk assessments.
- Knowledge of the nursing 6 c's
Desirable criteria
- Awareness of national and local issues impacting on nursing care.
