Are you passionate about improving patient care through research and innovation? Do you want to play a key role in supporting cutting-edge clinical research within a busy NHS Trust?

Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Research & Innovation Team. This is an exciting opportunity to support the delivery of the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) portfolio of clinical trials and contribute to research that helps shape the future of healthcare.

The post holder will support the conduct and delivery of NIHR portfolio clinical research studies across the Trust. Working closely with research teams, clinical staff, patients and external stakeholders, you will help maximise recruitment opportunities, promote best practice in research governance, and ensure research activities are undertaken safely and effectively.

Person specification

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • 1st Level Registered Nurse/AHP registered professional.
  • Nursing Diploma/Degree or AHP professional qualification.
  • Teaching qualification.
Desirable criteria
  • Nursing degree or working towards this.
  • Phlebotomy skills.

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Significant post registration experience.
  • Motivated and enthusiastic nurse/allied health professional.
  • Excellent organisational ability.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Good IT skills, particularly in the use of MS office applications.
  • Clinical research experience in NHS.
  • Familiar with audit and research methodologies and practice.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a small specialist team.
  • Multi-disciplinary team working.
Desirable criteria
  • Research portfolio.
  • Contribute to pre- and post-registration education.
  • Good presentation skills and ability to use power point.

Further Training

Essential criteria
  • Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
Desirable criteria
  • Consent training.
  • Formal qualification related to research.

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Understanding of Research in the NHS.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Computer literate.
Desirable criteria
  • Knowledge of Research methods and application.

Contractual

Essential criteria
  • Maintain Professional development.
  • To work flexibly to the agreed contracted hours.
