Job overview

The post holder is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation 
and evaluation of evidenced-based nursing care, working collaboratively and 
co-operatively with others to meet the needs of patients and their families. 

Main duties of the job

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, forward-facing, patient-centred individual to join our excellent nursing team on the stroke rehabilitation ward at Brecon Hospital. We are looking for an individual who can work well as part of a multidisciplinary team, who is caring and kind and wants to develop their clinical leadership skills. You will be expected to work as an autonomous practitioner with the support of the ward manager, senior nursing and therapies staff.

There are various hours and working patterns available on the ward. Must be able to work days and night duties to cover 24 hour service.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

  • Pre-registration evidence in direct nursing care
  • Experience of providing holistic nursing care
  • Interest in developing nursing skills
Desirable criteria
  • Clear understanding of clinical governance framework
  • Implement evidence-based practice

Qualifications and/or Knowledge

  • NMC Registered

  • Evidence of post registration study and training, e.g.
  • Awareness of safeguarding
