Job overview

We have a excellent opportunity for a Band 3 health care support worker to join our team in Cottage View residential home in Knighton

As a Health Care Support Worker, you will support the delivery of nursing care to clients within a clinical setting and/or home environment, as part of a team and under the direction of a Registered Nurse.

The post holder would be responsible for leading a team of staff at Band 2 or would be delegated to work in delivering a service whereby the post holder regularly works without supervision of a qualified nurse for all or most of the shift.

Main duties of the job

Participate in the emotional and physical needs of the residents seeking to provide as far as possible, a happy and stimulating and stable environment. 

Actively communicate with residents who are frail and have dementia and to participate in any activities to entertain and stimulate residents.

Help to ensure that all are staff contribute to the best of their ability and 
demonstrate any new tasks to staff to ensure the efficient running of the Home and the creation of a homely atmosphere.

Assist in the formulation of care plans for new residents and the review of care plans for established residents.

To care for residents by:
 Washing and bathing and assisting with dressing and undressing.
Assisting with toileting requirements, especially those who are physically, 
mentally frail or confused.
Assisting residents with their mobility using mobility aids provided for 
their use. Monitor the preparation and serving of food to ensure standards are met in respect of nutrition, environmental health, special diets etc
