Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Band 5  Nurse to support the team of nursing staff within the Acute floor on Ward 22SS at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital. Ideally the candidate will have post registration experience but newly qualified applicants will be acceptable.

This is a permanent position working mixed shifts over 7 days. 

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be instrumental in supporting the Ward team patient care and the continuous improvement of the department, effectively monitoring and maintaining excellent standards of care that are reflected by patient experience.  Sound clinical knowledge is essential.

The successful candidate must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, you will have a proactive, able to work in a fast paced environment and deal with issues constructively within the multidisciplinary team setting.  You must be flexible in your approach to the role and respond appropriately to the demands of an ever-changing workload.
