EPR Information Officer

Job overview

We are seeking motivated clinicians to become Digital Information Officers to support the deployment of the new Electronic Patient Record (EPR). These roles will be essential in ensuring that clinical voices are represented throughout design, configuration, testing, training, and go-live activities.

The Digital Information Officers will champion safe, effective, and user-centred clinical digital practice and will act as trusted points of contact within their clinical areas. They will support staff engagement, promote digital readiness, and help ensure the EPR is designed and implemented in a way that supports high-quality patient care.

Main duties of the job

Responsible for developing IT & patient systems training programme and identifying needs for the Trust to meet the regional and national training requirements. To lead the training team in meeting changing organizational demands on training requirements. To work in collaboration with project managers on large scale projects (example: EPR) ensuring most efficient training plans are designed and put in place and to assist in the transition. To develop and progress use of e-learning for IT and patient systems.

Qualifications & Training

Essential criteria
  • Educated to degree level and hold relevant professional qualification and current NMC/ HCPC registration
  • Evidence of continuing professional development in IT systems, training methodologies, or digital learning
Desirable criteria
  • Formal teaching or training qualification (e.g., PGCE, CIPD Level 5 in Learning & Development)
  • Certification in e-learning development tools (e.g., Articulate, Adobe Captivate)

Knowledge & Experience

Essential criteria
  • Extensive experience designing, delivering, and evaluating IT and patient systems training in healthcare or large public sector setting
  • Proven ability to lead and manage a training team, including performance management, appraisals and staff development
  • Experience in developing and maintaining e-learning content and platforms
  • Ability to produce reports, KPIs and present findings to senior stakeholders and boards
Desirable criteria
  • Experience with Digital Learning Solutions or similar e-learning platforms
  • Participation in regional or national IT training initiatives or workshops
  • Exposure to change management and organisational development programmes
  • Experience developing business cases for training investment
