A modern and forward-facing Trust employing over 6,600 members of staff, the hospital provides a full range of local hospital services across Doncaster Royal Infirmary in Doncaster, Bassetlaw Hospital in Worksop, Montagu Hospital in Mexborough. 

In February 2020, the Trust was rated ‘Good’ by the Care Quality Commission, an accreditation which applies to the organisation’s four hospital sites.

The post holder will be responsible for supporting the Band 7 Ward Sister, with the prime function of the role being, to provide clinical expertise in supporting the delivery of high standards of nursing care for patients within the HASU/ASU Stroke pathway. In addition the post holder will be expected to contribute to the ward by being part of the team leading a skilled workforce to implement changes that will see an improvement to patient pathways.

Both full and part time hours are available and successful applicants will contribute to the 7day 24 hour s rota. There is full senior support and a structured supervision process in place. As a Band 6, the post holders will play a key role in ongoing service review, development and delivery across the Trust’s Stroke service. There will be opportunities to participate in quality improvement and innovation projects. We have robust CPD and Appraisal processes in place and you will be supported to develop your clinical and non-clinical skills.

The Stroke Nurse Practitioners are based on Ward 16 a 24 bedded Stroke in-patient ward at Doncaster Royal Infirmary.

We are searching for a dynamic, highly motivated and passionate individual committed to high quality patient care within the stroke setting.  The post holder must have a flexible approach, and being committed to delivering high standards of patient focused care are essential requirements of the post. The post holder will be required to demonstrate professional attributes, including, diversity, dealing with change, and be able to work autonomously and effectively within the multidisciplinary team.

The post will provide an excellent opportunity for a nurse to display excellent clinical and leadership interpersonal and communication skills across the Stroke MDT.

We expect that you will be fully dedicated to person-centred care and that you will work collaboratively with our multi-disciplinary teams to ensure that patients receive a tailored management plan which addresses both current issues and proactively looks to prevent potential issues which may arise.

On appointment the successful candidates will be allocated a clinical and educational supervisor, access to eportfolio and will be supported to complete any educational or clinical training for their on-going CPD.
