Care Support Worker - General Surgery Clinic

Job overview
There are number of posts for ENT clinic and General Surgical Clinic at Doncaster Royal Infirmary. Full time and part time posts will be considered.

We will teach you everything you need to know and all we ask is that you are a caring and kind person with a genuine desire to help and support our patients by providing exceptional care. You'll not be doing this alone, you will join one of our dynamic and caring teams. You will work alongside many colleagues which include Healthcare Support workers & registered Nurses to name a few.
This posts will be based in the Ears Nose and Throat clinic and Surgical Outpatients at Doncaster Royal Infirmary with working hours between 8am and 17:30hrs Monday to Friday.
Main duties of the job
You will work alongside nurses and other healthcare professionals to provide a positive experience to our patients and their relatives at times of need. You will support patients in various ways.
It's really important to consider that some aspects of healthcare work can be distressing and unpleasant. You will be expected to help patients with personal care without being embarrassed or feeling awkward. You will need to be able to communicate sympathetically with patients, and distressed relatives, and care for patients who are very sick.

- Knowledge of personal care and related procedures
- Basic Maths and literacy
Desirable criteria
- Vocational qualification at level 2 or equivalent relevant experience.
- GCSE Grade C in Maths and English or educated to the equivalent

- Experience working with people using customer care skills

- Knowledge and understanding of current healthcare issues
- Experience of working in a healthcare setting and/or providing personal care
