An exciting opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic and hard-working individuals to join our Emergency Department team as a Housekeeper.
Our Emergency Department and Acute Assessment Unit is a busy, fast-paced environment, caring for children up to 16 years old with acute medical needs and/or injuries. The Housekeeper role is vital to the smooth running of the department, supporting the nursing team with essential non-clinical tasks.
About You

- Functional English and maths qualification or equivalent To have good communication skills: verbal and written
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with all members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure excellent care for patients and families.
Main duties of the job
Reporting into the Nurse some of your responsibilities will include:
- Ensure high standards of cleanliness across patient and non-patient areas.
- Monitor and maintain stock levels, ordering supplies as required.
- Collect and deliver pharmacy items and patient food/snack boxes.
- Provide patients with drinks and snacks as requested.
- Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to support excellent patient care.
- Liaise with Estates and Facilities teams to coordinate services and resolve issues promptly.
- Monitor quality standards, report deficiencies, and take appropriate action.
- Adapt the environment to meet diverse and special needs in partnership with staff and families.
- Support clinical teams in a non-clinical capacity to enhance patient experience.
- Carry out specific tasks for individual patient needs as directed by the nurse in charge.
