Main duties of the job

We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic individuals to join our experienced Senior Nursing Team within the Emergency Department. The successful applicants will work closely with a Band 7 Senior Sister to deliver high standards of patient care and provide robust support to staff across the unit.
This role offers a unique opportunity to develop leadership skills in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.

You will be expected to:
•     Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team
•     Demonstrate excellent communication, motivation, and enthusiasm
•     Take on managerial responsibility for a number of staff within the nursing team 
•     Lead nurse-led care on a shift-by-shift basis
•     Deliver gold-standard nursing practice across a diverse emergency caseload
•     Act as a role model, leading by example in all areas of clinical practice
•     Take charge in the absence of other senior staff
•     Manage and respond to complaints and Datix reports professionally
•     Champion specific areas of departmental interest to support ongoing service development

Essential criteria
  • Has NMC registration
  • Has undertaken courses in trauma nursing
  • Has undertaken an academic nursing qualification at least level 6
Desirable criteria
  • Has actively participated in an improvement within the department
  • Has completed datix responses
  • Has undertaken an academic nursing qualification at least level 7

Experience

Essential criteria
  • 5 Years post PIN experience in a large Emergency Department
  • 3 Years senior nurse experience
  • Leadership experience
  • Is competent in all areas of emergency nursing
