Clinical Nurse Specialist for Multiple Sclerosis

Band 7

Job overview

The Specialist Nurse will work in collaboration with the Neurological Clinical Team and the Directorate Team to provide management of care of the highest quality to all patients accessing the Specialist Outpatient Clinics.

Main duties of the job

Contributing to the development of the service, facilitating innovation and evidence based Nursing through professional leadership and supporting the clinical team.

Act as a credible and professional role model, encourage and empower staff to develop both personally and professionally to achieve their maximum potential.

Liaise with the MDT and facilitate a collaborative approach to patient care.

The post holder will be expected to exercise a high degree of professional autonomy and make critical judgements using specialist knowledge and skills in order to provide the highest standard of holistic care for patients with Multiple Sclerosis 

The post holder will provide clinical leadership and work in partnership with the multidisciplinary teams, patients, relatives and carers in managing the clinical caseload for the patient cohort.

The post holder will assess, plan, implement and evaluate specialist programmes of care and provide support to both patients and families.
