Job overview
At present, University Hospitals of North Midlands is unable to offer visa sponsorship for Band 2 to Band 4 roles, as these positions do not meet the minimum salary and skill thresholds required under UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) regulations.
Main duties of the job
• It is expected that ALL employees of the Trust will take part in the appraisal process each year, with the first appraisal taking place within the first 6 months from appointment.
• Communicate and report any changes or information relating to the patient to the Registered Nurse.
• Communicate appropriately with patients and visitors to the Ward or Department. Always portraying a professional respectful manner.
• To receive patients, visitors and staff in a calm, friendly and efficient manner.
• Exchanges information with patients using reassurance, tact and empathy.
• Overcome barriers to understanding for example patients with physical or mental disabilities.
• The post holder will be required to undertake as appropriate any training packages relevant to the healthcare setting and on-going training as determined by the Trust and their line manager.
• For all new Clinical Support Workers, it is mandatory that they complete the Care Certificate within 12 weeks off issue.
• All Clinical Support Workers are required to complete both Corporate and Care Coach Induction within their first week of employment.
• The post holder will work towards completion of a vocational qualification in care as agreed in their PDR.
• Have a duty to respond and report patient’s condition in a timely manner. This will include judgements involving facts.
• Hold basic keyboard skills.
• Dexterity to undertake nursing care procedures as appropriate.
