Our Trust has excellent opportunities for experienced and newly qualified Band 5 Theatre Practitioners to develop, enhance, consolidate and excel in their Theatre Skills.

Our Operating Theatres are expanding and are currently undergoing refurbishment in preparation for the exciting challenge of rebuilding our service. We are a rapidly developing department, catering for a wide range of specialties, electively or in a trauma situation.

Main duties of the job

Clinical Responsibilities

As a Registered Theatre Practitioner (RTP), you will provide high quality skilled theatre assistance, including scrub and circulatory duties throughout a range of specialities, and also demonstrate good communication skills to work within a multidisciplinary perioperative team.

Ensure all accurate record keeping in accordance with the NMC/ HCPC code at all times

Education and Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • 1st Level Nurse on part 1 or 12 of the NMC Register
  • ODA CG 752 / ODP NVQ Level 3 / DipHE ODP
  • HCPC Professional Registrant
Desirable criteria
  • ENB 998 or C&G 730
  • A1 Assessors award
  • ENB 176 /183/182 or equivalent
  • Preparation for Mentorship
  • Specific Theatre qualification or equivalent ability

Experience and Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Interest and commitment to philosophy of the Theatre suite
Desirable criteria
  • Post-qualification experience in a peri-operative environment
  • Experience of staff supervision and training

Skills and Abilities
