Job overview

We are seeking an individual to work within our dynamic and forward-thinking Dermatology service. This role will work within  our Dermatology nursing team, supporting patients with psoriasis, acne and other non cancer dermatological conditions

 There will be the opportunity for the post holder to develop skills in the care of patient in aspects of  general dermatology undertaken within the Trust.

 Prior experience of working within a dermatology would be beneficial as well as working within a team and either implementing change or being part of a change process.

 Further education related to Dermatology will be provided by the team.

Main duties of the job

The post holder is responsible for working as part of Dermatology team to deliver expert holistic evidence based clinical care to patients and the provision of education for patient’s carers and staff. The post holder is expected to work in partnership with Dermatology colleagues to improve and develop the services and quality of nursing care. The post holder will act as an expert resource to health care professionals.

  • • NMC Registration
  • • Post registration course in dermatology
  • • ENB 998 or equivalent
  • • Evidence of continuous professional development
  • • 1st degree
Desirable criteria
  • • Master’s degree
  • • Nurse prescribing qualification

Experience and knowledge

Essential criteria
  • • Experienced in the assessment of patients with Dermatology conditions
  • • Evidence of professional development and its relevant application
  • • Knowledge of change management process
  • • Ability to develop nursing excellence and clinical practice, standard setting and protocol development
  • • Clinical audit
  • • Initiation and evaluation of evidence based practice
  • • Project management

  • • Formal teaching experience
