Job overview

West Suffolk Hospital’s Neurology Department is looking for a nurse to work within the Parkinson’s Disease (PD) service.

The successful candidate will work alongside the Neurology Consultants and 2 other PD nurses.  They will support patients with Parkinson’s Disease throughout their journey.

We are looking for someone who is committed to ongoing service development and change. The role will cover inpatient, community and clinic settings to deliver the highest quality care in settings across Suffolk.

Training from the team will be available and options for further training can be discussed with the team.

Education and qualifications

Essential criteria
  • 1st Level NMC Registered Nurse
  • Non-medical prescribing qualification or willingness to undertake.
  • END 998/Equivalent
  • Educated to a degree level or working towards one.

Experience and knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Experience of working within Neurology and with PD Patients
  • Clinical knowledge of current developments in NSF for long term conditions
  • Commitment to undertake further specialist training
  • Knowledge of change management process
  • Initiation and evaluation of research based practice
  • Ability to develop nursing excellence and clinical practice
Desirable criteria
  • Managerial responsibility
  • Clinical audit
  • Standard setting and protocol development
