Nursing Assistant- Urology

Job overview

You will be required to work alongside Registered Nurses and Consultants, providing , support to patients in diagnostic and therapeutic procedures and investigations in the Urology department at Johanna Finn Unit, which is part of the Endoscopy Unit.  In addition, there will be a requirement to undertake some general duties to promote the smooth running of the department.

Good communication skills and a desire to work with people are essential.

Main duties of the job

  • To participate effectively in the preparation, maintenance, cleaning and disinfecting of all equipment and procedure rooms
  • To assist with Flexible Cystoscopy, Transperineal Biopsy, Urodynamics Study and to perform Uroflowmetry Tests and Bladder Scanning (Training Provided)
  • Be able to communicate effectively and sensitively with patients, relatives, and colleagues, referring to senior staff as necessary.
  • Conduct regular inventory checks of all procured goods to support efficient supply chain management
  • To organise and regulate the up-keep of the department, stocks and working environment on an agreed basis
