Job overview
Medical Treatment Unit is a Nurse led treatment area for out patients needing regular IV Therapy for Long term conditions. This involves, nMabs, IVIG, blood transfusions & HAS to name a few. We also offer short synacthen tests and other one day testing.
Managing IV Infusions, blood transfusions, performing cannulation & phlebotomy. Escalating to the medical Team when needed.

Education and qualifications
Essential criteria
- • NMC Registration
- • BLS & ILS trained
- • Teaching qualification e.g.ENB 998 or equivalent
- • Evidence of ongoing professional development
Desirable criteria
- • A1 Assessor course
- • Preparation for Mentorship
- • ALS
Experience and knowledge
Essential criteria
- • Willingness to share knowledge
- • Awareness of current political/professional issues
- • Demonstrates awareness of the 6C’s, Trust values and Patients First Service Standards
- • Demonstrates an awareness of the importance of keeping the clinical environment safe and clean
