Sonographer - CDC

NHS AfC: Band 7

Job overview

We are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for Sonographers who would like to join our friendly, passionate and supportive team. We are looking to recruit on a development pathway (AfC band 6-7 depending on knowledge, experience and skill set).

When all required competencies have been achieved and you are safely able to work autonomously at the level of a Band 7 Sonographer you will receive a recruitment and retention bonus of 7% per annum.

You will be based at the Newmarket Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC). This is an exciting opportunity to work in a new centre with state-of-the-art equipment in a bright, spacious and welcoming setting.

The CDC offers X-Ray, CT, MRI and US imaging services. Other services include Echo and lung function. We encourage potential applicants to come and visit this new facility which is highly rated by our staff and patients.

This is an exciting time to join the West Suffolk Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, with staff participating in the planning of our new hospital (Future Systems Program). We are also working closely with other hospitals within our ICS and engaging with regional Trusts within local Imaging Networks.

Main duties of the job

The WSFT Radiology department is proud to deliver a high-quality service which consistently receives excellent patient feedback. Our staff survey feedback shows that the department provides good wellbeing support in an environment which offers good CPD/staff development opportunities.

We are looking to invest in the professional development of an experienced Sonographer seeking to pursue a career in the NHS. If you feel you meet all of the essential criteria in the person specification and could fulfil the job description, delivering excellent patient care and a high-quality service then this could be the ideal opportunity for you.

The Ultrasound Department offers flexible working where full and part time hours will be considered. We are aiming to provide an 0800 - 2000 7-day service in the near future.

The successful candidate will need to be self-motivated, diligent, and committed to providing an excellent service to our patients. You will be required to obtain high quality ultrasound images and diagnostic reports within the community settings.
