We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a motivated and compassionate Band 5 Staff Nurse to join our Gynaecology Ambulatory Centre at Heatherwood Hospital.

This role is ideal for a nurse who is passionate about delivering high-quality, patient-centred care within a supportive multidisciplinary team. You will play a vital role in ensuring patients receive excellent care throughout their clinic journey, while contributing to the smooth and efficient running of the service.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to support and care for patients during their appointments

  • Ensuring clinics are fully prepared and organised to deliver safe and effective care

  • Supporting the senior nursing team with the day-to-day coordination and running of clinics

  • Working closely with medical staff to help ensure clinics run efficiently and to time

Main duties of the job

  • To provide the nursing care of Gynaecological patients, and work within a team/ward environment.
  • Responsibilities include the identification, planning, implementation and evaluation of all care provided.
  • To work in other areas of Frimley Park Hospital Trust as required by Ward Sister or delegated deputy.
  • Commence effective discharge planning, ensuring appropriate use of hospital resources and improving patient flow.
  • To work with all members of the multi-disciplinary team to support the patient during their appointment.
  • Ensure clinic is prepared.
  • Work with senior team to manage the day to day running of the clinics.
  • Work with the medical staff to ensure that the clinics run on time.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Registered Nurse with current NMC registration
  • Willingness to undertake Preceptorship Programme (newly qualified staff)
Desirable criteria
  • ENB 998 or Mentor Preparation Course
  • Post registration course relevant to speciality or willingness to complete
  • Venepuncture and cannulation

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Recent experience in an acute Trust.
  • Evidence of professional development.
  • Willingness to participate in the appraisal process.
Desirable criteria
  • Recent relevant surgical/gynaecological experience.
  • Experience in women’s health.

Skills

Essential criteria
  • Assess, plan, implement and evaluate evidence based care
  • Punctuality
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skill.
  • The ability to work as an effective team member and independently
