This an excellent opportunity for a Nurse or ODP with scrub experience to join our grown Theatres General Team. Main duties of the job
As the Band 7 Team Leader for the General Surgery Team, you will expected to have strong scrub practitioner knowledge, and leadership qualities to lead a team professionally and develop their skills further. You will be required to ensure that the practices and behaviours of staff meet our trust values, Theatre Standard Operating Procedures, as well maintaining high standards of quality care. If you are passionate about leading & teaching others, staff wellbeing and experience, providing high standards of care to our patients, patient safety, and making changes then we would like to hear from you.
To ensure good working relationships are maintained with the larger Multidisciplinary team and to wider areas of the Trust.
To have robust budget systems in place to manage the day to day running of the department.
To ensure incidents and accidents are reported and dealt with in a timely manner

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The post holder will be expected to work within the trust values, ensuring that they are embedded into clinical practice to give our patients and staff the best possible outcome and experience.
To be accountable for the operational management of the General Surgery Team within theatres, covering: Ophthalmology Surgery, General Surgery, Gynaecology, Urology, plastic surgeries. To ensure that staff comply to policies and procedures therefore being able to induct staff, teach junior staff and students is a must. The post holder will also be accountable for ensuring up-to-date clinical practice, providing clinical staff with leadership across the department when designated Theatre Coordinator and also ensuring the effective utilisation of the theatres. The post holder will be expected to participate in the Heatherwood Site-coordinator on rotation.

Essential criteria
- Active Professional Registration (NMC/HCPC)
- Experience of masters level education or equivalent
Desirable criteria
- Extended learning in the Surgical Specialities attached to this post
- Evidence of Post registration training and CPD

- Evidence of on-going self-led programme of CPD
- Ability to work with stakeholders at all levels of seniority
