Job overview
We are excited to announce an opportunity to join the community midwives. We are in the process of developing 5 hubs with 2 established, spanning from Bracknell to Farnham and book approximately 6000 women per year. We are looking for enthusiastic midwives to help develop our service within the Bracknell area in line with the National Maternity Review 'Better Births'. As a trust we are working towards continuity of carer and are looking for someone who is keen to develop this service while working with our current community team to enable a smooth transition.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will join a Community Midwifery Team working closely with colleagues in a supportive, caring and learning environment. He or she will support students and liaise closely with other members of the wider team providing excellent evidence-based care to women from a diverse multicultural background. He or she will provide antenatal and postnatal care for women in the Community Hub, hospital or home settings, facilitating informed choice and being involved in the development of a personalised pathway. We promote homebirths and have an on call service to support the continuity home birth team. Experience of working in the Community with experience of homebirth is advantageous.
