Main duties of the job

The Band 7 role in SDEC is a rewarding role. You will lead our dynamic, multi-disciplinary team on a daily basis, ensuring the smooth running of
shifts in a challenging and diverse environment. Your clinical leadership and people skills are vital to delivering the responsibilities and
accountabilities outlined in this job description.
No two days are the same in Same Day Emergency Care however, what we can promise to offer is an opportunity to develop and enhance your

Person specification

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Extensive post-registration experience within the specialty (minimum 5 years)
  • NMC Registered Adult Nurse
  • BSc or evidence of study at level 6 with ability to complete BSc
  • Teaching and assessing course (i.e. Mentorship or equivalent)
  • ILS
  • Safeguarding level 3
Desirable criteria
  • MSc or evidence of study at level 7
  • ALS
  • Level 1 or 2 Trauma
  • Management and leadership course

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Extensive post-registration experience within the specialty (minimum 5 years)
  • Experience of team and shift management
  • Experience in conducting appraisals
Desirable criteria
  • Experience in service improvement implementation
  • Experience in research
  • Experience in audit

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Demonstrates the application of evidence based practice and knowledge of current clinical and professional issues.
  • Understanding of Clinical Audit & Clinical Governance
  • Ability to create an environment which facilitates learning
  • Commitment to self-development and development of others
Desirable criteria
  • Knowledge and understanding of change management theories
