Clinical Matron- Acute Medical Unit - 12 month secondment.

AMU  is a fast-paced acute medical unit of 37 beds, specialising in caring for emergency and complex medical patients. We have recently developed  a new purpose built Medical Hub and Same Day Emergency Care Unit, to support the acute medical pathway and to improve patient experience. We have a clear and ambitious vision to provide outstanding patient care and to become the best: we would like you to be part of our success.

We are really excited about the Clinical Matron roles that we have developed for our wards. As part of our ambitious agenda and on-going development of the ward, we are seeking to appoint an exceptional candidate into the ward matron role, for acute medicine.

Our successful candidate will be someone who is highly engaged, with a desire to lead from the bedside and to set the tone for exceptional and high quality nursing care. We are looking for an experienced and ambitious nurse who is able to lead, motivate and inspire and who is able to champion compassionate, high quality and dignified patient care.

The successful candidate will be able to drive the clinical quality agenda; ensuring patients receive a good experience within our care. We believe our clinical leaders need to be pragmatic and ready to embrace change. Ideally, you should have experience of running a busy clinical area and have a passion for delivering great care within a team and an ability to lead on the quality and improvement agendas.

If providing excellent nursing care, getting the basics right are important to you and you have a strong desire to support and develop others to become excellent at what they do, and if making a difference and doing the right thing is fundamental to you, we would love to hear from you to discuss this exciting opportunity further.

This post is a secondment  for 12 months initially and the appointed post holder will receive a structured induction and a personal development plan, with regular and ongoing support from the Head of Nursing for Emergency Medicine
