Calling all Band 6  Anaesthetic Nurses & ODPs!

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Band 6 Operating Department Practitioner/Anaesthetic Nurse to join our perioperative team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the safe and effective care of patients undergoing surgical procedures. You will be working collaboratively with surgeons, anaesthetists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Registered Operating Department Practitioner (HCPC registration mandatory)/Anaesthetic Nurse.

  • Experience working in a busy UK surgical or perioperative environment, preferably at Band 5 level or equivalent.

  • Strong clinical skills with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, and when required to, lead the team. 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Commitment to professional development and quality patient care.

Main duties of the job

  1. Provide skilled assistance to clinicians and other members of the theatre
  2. To deliver support and care to the required standards as directed within the specific clinical
  3. Provide a service to all areas of the Trust where specifically related equipment or techniques are used.
  4. Respond positively to unplanned activities outside of normal
  5. Plan work in advance to ensure deadlines are met.
  6. Act as a senior practitioner supporting and mentoring junior ODPs and other theatre staff.

  • RGN Level 1 / RODP
  • Anesthetic Qualification
  • Basic Life Support Course
Desirable criteria
  • Immediate Life Support Course

Knowledge and Skills

  • 2 years experience in anaesthetics
  • Willingness to undertake post registration work in specialty
  • Understanding of Clinical Governance
