Job overview
As an experienced paediatric nurse, the post holder will provide highly specialist, evidence-based nursing care for children and young people with diabetes and their families within Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust.
The post holder will lead on the assessment, education, and ongoing management of paediatric diabetes, working autonomously and as part of the multidisciplinary team to improve clinical outcomes, promote self-management, and enhance patient experience. The successful candidate will work across sites in both West Sussex and Surrey, but will be primarily based at Crawley hospital.
The successful candidate should be prepared to support hospital staff, attend clinics and oversee care of inpatients. To visit playgroups, nurseries, schools, colleges and homes in order to provide full support to the child with diabetes mellitus and their family. To attend conference and study days to keep up-to-date with current care initiatives.
To develop and lead in the delivery of care whilst acting as an autonomous practitioner and a specialist nurse.
A developmental post will also be considered.
