Please note that this is a Part Time position, 34.5 hours per week.
You’ll play a key part in carrying out duties to support all staff in the care of babies, children and their families.

Main duties of the job

Main duties of the job are:
- To ensure all ward facilities and equipment are tidy, clean and available for use for children, parents and staff.
- To clean cots, beds, incubators and medical equipment as required.
- Ensure all areas are kept well stocked as necessary.
- Maintain stock usage and report shortfalls to the senior sister for ordering.

Some of the core tasks include:
- Ensure ward facilities and equipment are tidy, clean and available for use for children, parents and staff.
- Clean cots, incubators, and nurseries as required.
- Cleaning of medical equipment.
- To assist families resident in family rooms as requested by nursing staff.
- Ensure family rooms are kept clean and comfortable, make up beds as needed.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- GCSE Maths and English Grade C/4 or above or equivalent
Experience
Essential criteria
- Previous experience of dealing with the general public
Desirable criteria
- Experience in a healthcare setting
- Experience of manual handling
- Experience on a hospital ward
Skills and Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Ability to communicate clearly
- Basic numeracy and literacy
- Ability to follow clear instructions and feedback from staff
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
