Bank Staff Nurse

Band 5

We are one of the country’s top performing NHS Foundation Trusts, looking after the wellbeing of around half a million people across Northumberland and North Tyneside – one of the largest geographical areas of any NHS Trust in England.

We deliver care from 11 acute sites including an emergency care hospital, general and community hospitals, an outpatient and diagnostic centre, an elderly care unit and an integrated health and social care facility.

We are rated ‘outstanding’ overall by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). We are one of the North East’s largest employers with 9,500 dedicated members of staff. We have a Council of Governors with 70 members, representing the public, staff and some of our external partners.

We invest heavily in staff to ensure that the best talent is attracted, developed, looked after, and retained in every area of the organisation. Staff satisfaction is high and our staff consistently rate us as one of the best places to work in the NHS.

We were one of the first NHS Trusts to receive foundation status, and have been a foundation trust for over a decade.

Candidates must read the entire ‘Applicants Guidance Notes’ before submitting any applications.

Please note that it is a requirement of this Trust that all successful applicants pay for their own DBS certification if a DBS check is required for the post.  The method of payment is a salary deduction from your first monthly pay.

Nurses looking for a fresh challenge and a wealth of opportunities are being encouraged to join the best place to work in the NHS - Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.

We are one of the largest NHS organisations in the country with almost 3,000 nurses, midwives and health visitors delivering compassionate care for patients in hospitals and in the community across Northumberland and North Tyneside.

Widely recognised as being at the forefront of the NHS, we introduced a new model of emergency care last summer, opening the country’s first purpose-built hospital dedicated to emergency care The Northumbria.

Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust serves 530,000 people living throughout the areas of North Tyneside and Northumberland. The Trust is made up of Wansbeck General Hospital, North Tyneside General Hospital, Hexham General Hospital and several community sites including Blyth Community Hospital, Morpeth Cottage Hospital, Alnwick Infirmary, Rothbury Cottage Hospital, and Haltwhistle Hospital. We also provide Community Services, including District Nurses, to our local population.

We require reliable, enthusiastic and motivated Staff Nurses to join our Staff Nurse Bank. You will be expected to provide high standards of care to those patients accessing our services and embrace our trust values. You should demonstrate excellent communication skills, and have a flexible approach to your work.

The post will be based at Cobalt Business Park but the post holders will work via Staff Bank Trustwide.
