Nursing Associate- Operating Theatres
Are you a qualified or about to qualify as a Registered Nursing Associate with a Level 5 Foundation Degree and looking for a new challenge with an opportunity to help develop and establish this role within an acute Trust? If so, we are keen to recruit enthusiastic, forward thinking, dynamic and motivated Nursing Associate to join our team here at UHCW NHS Trust within the operating department
The Nursing Associate role is designed to support the work of Registered Nurses and successful candidates will work within teams to provide and maintain high standards of safe and effective patient care. You will receive a period of local induction and undertake a structured preceptorship programme specifically designed to support you. Employment at UHCW will also allow you the opportunity to consolidate, and further develop your skills and expertise in your band 4 Nursing Associate role.
Any offers made are conditional and based on satisfactory employment checks relevant to the role. It is expected that you undertake your apprenticeship End Point Assessment following admission onto the NMC register

Previous experience in Theatres is not essential as in-house training will be provided for staff interested in a scrub or recovery role. however you must possess a recognised qualification (RN, NA, ODP)

UHCW NHS Trust has 32 theatres in total with 22 theatres in the Main Theatre department, 5 theatres and 2 treatment rooms in the Day Surgery Unit and 5 theatres at our Rugby St Cross site. We also provide anaesthetic assistance in the Centre for Reproductive Medicine, Neuro Coiling, ECT, and for various invasive imaging procedures when required.
We undertake over 400,000 procedures a year ranging from outpatient cystoscopies to transplant surgery, covering many specialties from cardiothoracic to neurosurgery and gynaecology. As a Major Trauma Centre we currently have 2 dedicated theatres for the trauma and emergency workload with additional sessions allocated for major reconstructive surgery.
As a provider of patient-centred care, we are passionate about delivering excellent care to our local and extended population in the acute environment and in recent years, our theatres have achieved large gains in productivity and efficiency through improved capacity management and real-time tracking of theatre activity
