 The ACP will work as part of a large multidisciplinary team including medical, clerical, non-clinical support and professions allied to Haematology in managing the clinical needs of patients presenting to haematology services

Under the guidance of protocols, independently receives, assesses and manages patients admitted or presenting to Haematology services. Th job will involve working across acute and outpatient services and across different BTHFT sites. 

Work autonomously within a wider health care team

Work across professional, organisational, and system boundaries and proactively develop and sustain new partnerships and networks to influence and promote health outcomes and healthcare delivery systems.

Education & qualifications

  • Registered with relevant professional body
  • Degree level registration qualification or equivalent post-registration award
  • MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice
  • Advanced Life Support qualification/willing to undertake
  • Non-medical independent prescribing
  • Experience of working within an acute medical setting

  • Documented evidence of completion of generic advanced practice competencies and a defined range of specialty competencies
  • Ability to motivate individuals and teams
  • High standard of oral and written communication skills and confidence to discuss patient management with other members of the MDT
  • High level of capability using outcome measures and audit
  • Confidence and ability to accurately assess and manage complex patient presentations to a high professional standard
  • Ability to critique own practice
  • In-depth knowledge in their specialist clinical field
  • Ability to manage time and workload effectively and to work in a high pressure environment
  • Excellent liaison and negotiation skills
  • Commitment to staff development and training Self-motivated and able to work independently and autonomously both within the trust and with partner organisations
