Job overview
We are seeking a Haematology Nurse Specialist - Secondments position to join our dedicated team at Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust. In this role, you will serve as the key worker for haematology patients, providing coordinated and continuous care from initial investigations and diagnosis through every stage of their cancer journey.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will act as the key worker for haematology patients from investigation to initial diagnosis and throughout the whole cancer journey to ensure coordination and continuity of care. The post holder will liaise with all members of the multi-disciplinary team, including members of the primary healthcare team, to provide specialist nursing knowledge and expertise on all aspects of haematology care.

Education, qualifications and training and experience
Essential criteria
- Registered adult nurse with significant relevant experience
- Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council
- Demonstrates evidence of on-going professional development
- Evidence of relevant clinical experience in Haematology
- Experience of multi-professional working within an MDT
- Demonstrates excellent communication skills
- Ability to work autonomously but also as part of a team.
- Understanding of equality and diversity and how to apply it to self and others
Desirable criteria
- Advanced communication skills training
- Haematology site specific education
- Knowledge of chemotherapy protocols used in Haematology

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
