Job overview

The Education Department has an exciting opportunity for 1 Registered Nurse or AHP to join the Practice Education Team. The role will positively influence and improve the quality of the clinical learning environment by providing support, supervision, educational and professional development opportunities for all learners within the practice setting. This will include Trainee Nursing Assistants, Apprentices, Student Nurses and, new recruits and Preceptee Nurses.

Main duties of the job

 You will be required to provide best practice advice for supervisors and assessors in relation to clinical practice and governance. You will have regular patient contact when working with learners and this will include carrying out personal and clinical care. When supporting staff in clinical areas you will role model standards of care and contribute to the identification of practice requiring further development. You will develop and use personal clinical knowledge and skills to promote excellence in care delivery.

You must maintain records relating to supervisors, assessors and learners in the clinical learning environment. You must be IT literate as there is a requirement to use a computer for this role. 

As a Practice Educator a major job responsibility is to teach a range of learners, devising and developing clinical learning opportunities and programmes of study. 

As an NMC/HCPC registrant you will actively seek feedback on your performance, contribute to your appraisals and NMC/HCPC revalidation, and provide constructive feedback to those you supervise.

You will observe a personal duty of care in relation to the safe use equipment and resources used in the course of your work.
