Shropshire Community Health NHS Trust has exciting opportunities for Bank Band 2 Healthcare Assistant’s to join our Team's across all areas of Shropshire. When applying, please state your preferred inpatient ward or wards in your supporting information: Ludlow, Bishops Castle, Bridgnorth, Whitchurch, Ward 36 at The Princess Royal Hospital (Telford) or Ward 18 at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital.

Main duties of the job
We are proactive forward thinking teams, who constantly strive for the delivery of excellent patient care and modern ways of working. The team's work closely with Therapies, Virtual Ward and Rapid Response supporting multi-professional working.
The services operates 24hrs a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, with Early, Late (or Long day) and Nights shifts available.
The teams provide nursing care to patient while on the wards with a rehab focus and promotion of patient independence.
We are committed to clinical support, CPD & training.

Training and Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Ability to demonstrate a level of English language and grammar commensurate with writing in service user case notes.
- Good standard of general education.
- Work towards NVQ and acquire knowledge of palliative care and rehabilitation.
Experience
Essential criteria
- Awareness of accountability issues e.g. confidentiality.
- Awareness of the role of the Healthcare Assistant.
- To be a safe member of the ward team.
Knowledge and Skills
Essential criteria
- The ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff both written and orally.
- Good interpersonal skills (written and oral).
- Maintain a professional approach to all team members, patients, relatives, and the general public.
