Job overview

The post holder is responsible for the implementation and evaluation of nursing care in an acute adult ward  under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse and to work collaboratively with others to meet the needs of patients and their families.

Main duties of the job

An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit dedicated and enthusiastic Band 2 Health Care Support Workers to join our Emergency Department team.

The HCSW is an integral part of the team carrying out assigned tasks alongside registered nursing staff, including essential patient care, clinical duties and non clinical duties. Ensuring the environment is kept clean and tidy for patients is paramount. You will work as part of a large team of nurses, emergency nurse practitioners, doctors and a wider multidisciplinary team providing a high quality of care and safe discharge planning for our patients.

This busy unit is looking for a motivated and forward thinking healthcare assistant who is keen to embrace the challenge acute nursing brings. You will need excellent communication skills and team working ability. You should have a keen interest in caring for emergency admissions and a willingness to learn. The ideal candidate would possess good time management skills and be able to work under pressure
