Are you a registered nurse with experience of working in the field of mental health research? We are a friendly and supportive team who are keen to ensure that our service users, carers and staff have the opportunity to participate in high quality research. We place great importance on making sure our study participants have a positive research experience and do our upmost to ensure they always feel valued.
We work efficiently and collaboratively with our colleagues within our growing team and the organisation at large. Forming positive relationships and contacts with external organisations, such as local charities and universities is also an important aspect of what we do.
Applicants must have 18 months post qualifying experience including sign off of appropriate preceptorship or competency framework (at the point of application).

We have a fixed term (23 months) opportunity for a Research Nurse who is passionate about delivering high quality mental health research. The successful postholder, will be working with clinical teams and study teams to support in the set up and delivery of NIHR portfolio research studies across the geography of the Trust.
The postholder will work on a variety of National Institute for Health Research, research studies and coordinate all aspects of running the trials and carry out the research activities to GCP (Good Clinical Practice) standards.
In addition to this, the postholder will provide supervision of research assistants in the team along with effective leadership skills to ensure recruitment to research studies is successful.
You will be skilled at managing competing demands autonomously, whilst being a team player and strong communicator to support colleagues.
You will promote trials to clinicians, participant recruitment, obtain informed consent, collect baseline and follow-up data, and safety reporting in line with specific trial protocols.
You will have autonomous management of personal workload, and high standards of practice in accordance with the UK Policy Framework for Health and Social Care Research.
You will share our values of respect, compassion and responsibility in all that you do to promote a positive image of the Research and Development department.

- Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
- Trained in Clinical Supervision and providing clinical supervision OR willingness to work towards within 6 months

- ICH Good Clinical Practice training
Experience

- 18 months post qualifying experience including sign off of appropriate preceptorship or competency framework (at the point of application)
- Significant experience of working with people diagnosed with severe mental illness
- An understanding of the needs of service users and carers who may wish to be involved in research

- Experience in a clinical research setting or taken part in research projects

- Knowledge of the legislation relating to Information Governance, confidentiality requirements and data protection.
