Clinical Support Manager
The NI Ambulance Service is now recruiting for a Clinical Support Manager to join their Integrated Clinical Hub (ICH) team.

Accountable to: Consultant Paramedic – Urgent Care
Job Summary
The post holder will be an experienced Clinician who can exhibit a well-developed breadth and depth of knowledge combined with critical thinking and expertise in patient assessment, treatment and sign posting.
In this role you will be responsible for providing clinical support to the Emergency Ambulance Control (EAC) team and supporting the welfare and response to patients requiring urgent and emergency care. As well as this, you will provide a patient focused delivery of care, treatment and safe transport for all patients – emergency or non-emergency – in a clinically safe and professional environment, utilising enhanced skills and best practice.
You will also lead the continual development of clinical excellence within ICH – the Integrated Clinical Hub.
Essential Criteria
1) A relevant Degree or equivalent professional qualification and a minimum of 2 years relevant experience post registration with pre-hospital experience with evidence of an appropriate CPD portfolio. To include the supervision of staff in an Ambulance environment or similar field.
OR
A relevant Diploma or equivalent qualification and a minimum of 3 years relevant experience post registration with pre-hospital experience with evidence of an appropriate CPD portfolio. To include the supervision of staff in an Ambulance environment or similar field.
OR
A minimum of 5 years relevant experience post registration with pre-hospital experience with evidence of an appropriate CPD portfolio to include a minimum of 2 years’ experience of supervising staff in an Ambulance environment or similar field
2) Experience in remote / telephone clinical assessment
3) Registered HCPC Paramedic
OR
Nursing Midwifery Council (NMC) Registered Nurse and have obtained a post registration diploma; e.g Emergency Care Diploma or equivalent qualification
4) Experience and evidence of working in a clinical environment where they have made independent clinical decision in a challenging environment.
5) Evidence of clinical mentorship or supervisory experience
6) Provide evidence of continuous personal and professional development.
7) Experience in developing, influencing and implementing policies, procedures and working practices including the promotion of evidence-based practice.
8) Demonstrate experience of undertaking audit, data collection / interpretation with ability to influence change.
9) Experience of managing the delivery of operational services and achievement of performance targets.
10) Demonstrate clear clinical leadership – mentoring other staff in both operational and learning environments
11) Evidence of dealing with competing priorities simultaneously, to meet required timescales within available resources
12) Have excellent communication skills to meet the needs of the post in full.
13) Able to make critical decisions quickly and rationally based upon complex information and the need for action based upon options available.
14) Self-motivated with the ability to work on own initiative.
15) Demonstrate proficient computer literacy skills.
16) Ability to travel between work sites in a timely fashion and be flexible in terms of working hours and location. Able to work a 24/7 shift pattern to include nights, weekends and public holidays etc.
17) Hold or willing to attain MTS/AMPDS and any requirements that are required to provide the role
18) Hold a current full driving licence which is valid for use in the UK and have access to a car on appointment. This criteria will be waived in the case of applicants whose disability prohibits driving but who have access to a form of transport approved by the Trust which will permit them to carry out the duties of the post.
19) Hold or Willing to obtain a Category C1 driving licence and emergency driving qualification, if required
