COVID-19 Vaccination Programme – Site Leader  

With clinical trials progressing well we are preparing to deliver COVID-19 vaccines to millions of at-risk people across the country as soon as they are approved by the MHRA, the official UK regulator.

And with the recent Department for Health and Social Care consultation on temporary changes to legislation we can allow a wider group of staff to vaccinate with appropriate training.

Main duties of the job

As a COVID-19 Site Leader, you will be responsible for oversight of multiple vaccination and post-vaccination observation area within a mass vaccination site. You will also be responsible for: 

  • Coordination and oversight of screening and vaccination delivery 
  • Provision of adequate leadership and support to all staff and citizens. 
  • Ensuring the effective delivery of care including undertaking specialist procedure, providing specialist advice, structured education and ongoing support to the site staff and the patients. 

 

 

Working for our organisation

We are a University teaching hospital full of hard working and dedicated  staff provide community and hospital services across an area covering a  thousand square miles in south Cumbria and north Lancashire.

We operate from three main hospitals - Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria  Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.

FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full        Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services. 

WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an  Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of                                               non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.
