  • We are seeking an experienced nurse who is committed, enthusiastic and highly motivated to join our existing professional team of nurses. A service which is focused on ensuring patients receive an optimal level of care tailored to their individual needs.
  • This entails managing both the Emergency Management Unit and Short Stay Unit, taking charge and supporting the nursing team. The role will also involve liaison with the Emergency Department and Patient Flow too, along with many other members of the multidisciplinary team.
  • Faster specialised same day treatment and safe discharge home with links to community services, enhances recovery and associated care planning are all benefits.
  • The role will involve working across the 24/7 working week and will include night shifts.
  • This is a fantastic opportunity to join the Emergency Management Unit team to provide the highest standard of care to acutely ill patients

Key Result Areas

  1. To act as a role model, mentoring, coaching and supporting all staff
  2. To promote the role of elderly care to stakeholders
  3. To foster a culture of networking in an open and transparent approach to both internal and external stakeholders
  4. Monitor and improve quality care indicators relevant to the ward environment
  5. To help promote and recruit into nursing vacancies

 Practice

  1. Act as clinical expert in topics relating to the ward specialty
  2. Prioritise, facilitate and monitor the delivery of care to patients, ensuring continuity of care
  3. Participate in clinical supervision
  4. Be aware of and participate in the complaints/RCA procedure
  5. Be aware of and participate in the Trusts strategy for managing clinical risks and clinical governance
  6. Act as a professional and clinical role model to all staff, patients and the public at all times
  7. Promote the development of new services within the ward area and assist the matron to implement change
  8. Maintain efficient and effective communication with the multidisciplinary team on issues relating to patient care
