We are one of the largest specialist mental health and learning disabilities trusts in the country, with an annual income of £320m and a workforce of some 6,700 staff operating from around 100 sites in Durham, Teesside, North Yorkshire and York and Selby. We provide a range inpatient and community services to 2m people living in County Durham, the Tees Valley, Scarborough, Whitby, Ryedale, Harrogate, Hambleton and Richmondshire. We also provide additional specialist services to other parts of Northern England.

We deliver our services by working in partnership with eight local authorities and clinical commissioning groups, a wide range of voluntary organisations, as well as service users, their carers and the public. The services are spread over a wide geographical area of around 3,600 square miles, which includes coastal, rural and industrial areas.

These posts are being advertised to address a temporary need for 12 months, however the Trust has made the commitment to offer the successful applicant a permanent contract with the Trust. In the event that the need for this post ends, a suitable alternative post will be offered. Applicants should be aware that alternatives may require some flexibility on role and/or location.

We are seeking 2 Community Mental Health Nurses to cover maternity leave for 12 months to join the existing GP Aligned Mental Health Service within Adult Mental Health, we have  an exciting opportunity for  an experienced Mental Health Nurse to join the team working within the primary care network within the Derwent and Chester le Street area.

You will ideally be a non medical prescriber.

You will work within GP practices providing assessment and short term intervention to patients referred by their GPs.

Supervision, training and personal development are a key aspect of the post.

If you do not require full time hours, flexible hours can be considered.
