An opportunity has arisen to join our all age learning disability service, we aim to provide a whole life service for people with learning disabilities in the Wigan Leigh and Ashton localities of the Wigan Borough. This is an exciting time to join the  community learning disability service as the service operates within the integrated community services model, that wraps care around the locality with strong working relationships with all mainstream care services and GP service delivery footprints.

We are looking for an enthusiastic learning disability nurse  who has the ability to work with both children and adults service users, to be able to create and carry out behavioral support plans and support transition.

The post holder must be a registered learning disability nurse who is 
passionate about supporting people with learning disabilities and their families with a creative and flexible approach. The post holder will have responsibility for supporting the management of a defined caseload in a person centred and inclusive manner

The service offers programmes and workshops as well as individual work with adults and children and families to meet their identified needs to which the post holder will be expected to participate.

The post involves working in a variety of settings and post holder must be able to travel independently.

They must have good communication skills and have a flexible approach to working

There is a robust supervision model in place to support staff

The Trust is committed to Safeguarding Children and Vulnerable adults and the post holder will be required to keep this at the forefront of their practice.

Candidates will be required to present original certificates for qualifications at interview stage.
