Mental Health in Schools Team Lead Practitioner, Band 7
Greenwich CAMHS are excited to be recruiting two lead practitioners for the new Mental Health in Schools Support Teams which will commence in September 2019. The Mental Health Support Teams are part of an exciting trailblazer project funded by NHS England, Health Education England and partners, with the aim of improving the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people in the community.
There is a specific focus on developing more access to helping and improving the general culture of emotional support within all primary and secondary schools. Working alongside community partners the Mental Health Support Teams will be integrated with community CAMHS Early intervention team and educational settings.
The lead practitioner role for MHST will be to support the delivery of all interventions within the MHST project, ensuring that a wide range of evidence based interventions are used to support young people’s mental health and to ensure integration within EIT is seamless and transparent. You will provide leadership and will be involved in the development of the MHST alongside the team manager and other senior colleagues in the service and within the borough.
We seek to appoint an enthusiastic and dynamic lead practitioner who is passionate about CAMHS, with a demonstrable track record of CAMHS clinical and leadership experience. You will have experience of supervising clinicians and be able to evidence clinical leadership skills and abilities. You will be a CAMHS professional registered with a professional body (nurse, social worker or OT)
The post holder will have the opportunity to attend a supervisors training at UCL and KCL. This is a Postgraduate certificate course that successful trainees will achieve a Postgraduate Certificate in Children & Young People's IAPT Supervision. The training will commence in January 2020.
