Job overview
The main purpose of this role will be:
To provide strong, effective leadership coupled with a solid sense of commitment to delivering excellent nursing care and patient experience on the Medical Same Day Emergency Care Unit, and to ensure the improvement and sustainability of the quality-of-care indicators for caring for the patients.
You will be expected to work with the matron to ensure the operational efficiency of the unit, working collaboratively with all departments across the Trust.
You will be expected to promote consistent safe, effective, well led and responsive quality care and working practices in the unit and ensure that staff will receive the appropriate leadership, support, appraisal and continual professional development.
This role will require flexibility of hours and working patterns.
You will be expected to work within the Acute care Leadership Team and multidisciplinary team to develop and evolve our pathways for acute admission avoidance and admissions. Through demonstration of high levels of clinical expertise and practice, work collaboratively with members of the multi-disciplinary team (MDT), divisional care unit and others to review and plan services which are responsive, cost effective and evidence based
Provide strong, professional leadership working in partnership to enhance professional standards of care across the service linking in with primary, secondary and tertiary care as appropriate

Essential criteria
- - 1st level degree or equivalent experience
- - 1st level RGN
