Urology Oncology Nurse Specialist
Band 7
Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is the only acute hospital provider in the Mid and South Essex Integrated Care System (ICS), which is a system of health and care partners working together for our local population.
Within Mid and South Essex there are 149 GP practices, operating from over 200 sites, forming 27 Primary Care Networks and one Ambulance Trust. There are also three main community and mental health service providers who work together through a community collaborative.

Job overview
We are looking for an experienced Urology Oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist to join the team at our Broomfield site.
An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Urology Oncology Team for a Band 7 Clinical Nurse Specialist. This role is ideal for any nurse with urology oncological experience who wishes to further develop into the CNS role. Depending on experience/qualifications this role may be offered as a developmental role commencing on a Band 6 with progression to a Band 7. We look forward to your application. Main duties of the job
You will promote and develop high standards of care for Uro-oncology patients.
You will work in close collaboration with the Urology and Oncology departments and other members of the multi-disciplinary team to ensure a safe and effective pathway of care.
Support of patients and their family is an essential part of this role, along with sharing CNS expertise with other members of the multi-disciplinary team.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Registered Nurse / NMC registered
- Post-registration experience – with demonstrable experience working in urology or oncolog
Desirable criteria
- BSc or Masters in an allied field
- Non-Medical Nurse prescribing
- Consultation & Assessment qualification
- ENB 998 or equivalent
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience of caring for patients with urological or oncological conditions.
- Experience at junior sister level or similar, or have acted up in this role.
- Working automatously & part of a team.
Desirable criteria
- Have been involved with any nurse led services, or service redesign
- Knowledge of broader issues related to specialty – political and Trust
