Job overview

Medway Community Healthcare is seeking a dedicated Night Nurse Assistant to join our compassionate and dynamic nursing team. This is an exciting opportunity to support people in their own homes, helping them maintain independence and improve their quality of life.

Working across the Medway towns, you will be part of a person-centred, integrated care service that proactively supports individuals to manage their own health and wellbeing during the night.

Main duties of the job

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively with the nursing team to deliver high-quality care in the community.
  • Support our nurses to support our patients with  healthcare needs during night visits.
  • Promote independence and assist with self-care strategies.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and communicate effectively with team members.
  • Respond to urgent care needs as part of a planned night service.
  • The service runs from 7pm to 7am 365 days a year. 
  • This position involves working weekends and some Bank Holidays.  Occasional day time work will be required to meet your learning and development needs.

What We’re Looking For:

  • NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent)
  • Previous experience working in a health and care setting
  • A compassionate, proactive, and person-centred approach
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Flexibility to work night shifts across the Medway area
  • Due to the nature of this role, you will need to have a valid UK driving licence and access to a car you can use for work purposes.

Undertakes personal care duties, e.g. bathing, toileting, dressing, support with meals and assisting patients with their appearance.

 

Physical effort

Frequent moderate effort for several long periods - Turns, manoeuvres patients/clients for toileting, bathing using aids; toileting.

Frequent concentration; work pattern predictable.

Concentration for personal care procedures, standard driving.

 

Emotional effort

Occasional distressing or emotional circumstances - Care of patients/clients with chronic illness/conditions, terminally ill and deaths.
