Our charity shops play a vital role in the delivery of this free care by helping to pay for all our services. As a driver for our shops your role will be an essential one in the provision of this care.
We’re looking for reliable and motivated Van Drivers to join our expanding charity retail team across Northwest London. This role is essential to the success of our shops, helping to collect and deliver donated furniture and household items between our donation points, shops, and customers’ homes. You will ensure that every item arrives in great condition, ready to be sold and turned into vital funds for our hospice services.
Main duties of the job
We’re looking for reliable and motivated Van Drivers to join our expanding charity retail team across Northwest London. This role is essential to the success of our shops, helping to collect and deliver donated furniture and household items between our donation points, shops, and customers’ homes. You will ensure that every item arrives in great condition, ready to be sold and turned into vital funds for our hospice services.
You’ll be a key part of the team, representing our charity. You’ll regularly interact with donors, customers, shop staff, and volunteers, offering a helpful hand and a friendly face. With a good knowledge of the road and a hands-on approach to moving and handling goods, to help keep our retail operations running smoothly and efficiently.
We’re looking for someone with proven van driving experience, ideally within a charity retail environment who is confident navigating busy routes and managing their time well. This is a rewarding role for someone who wants to use their driving skills for a good cause.

Essential criteria
- Full clean UK driver’s license & aged over 25 years (for insurance reasons)
- Knowledge of safe and effective manual handling
Experience and Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Experience driving a van (ideally Luton and Long-wheel base)
- Experience working with customers
Personal Qualities and Abilities

- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills –
- Strong team working skills and ability to work well under pressure
- Able to work autonomously, using own initiative
- Able to comfortably manage physically demanding work
