Job overview

An exciting opportunity is now available in the Emergency Department (ED) Medicine Division  for a Practice Development Nurse (PDN). This is an exciting opportunity for an interested B7/B6 who is looking to develop their training and practice development skills. Whilst the PDN role is a challenging one, you will be supported primarily by the Matrons, and another PDN's within the team and Consultants.  You will be working alongside a supportive team of Band 7’s who have a wealth of skills & knowledge within in respective areas of practice.

We are looking for someone who has a strong track record of leading and managing staff and who has the ability to inspire and motivate those around them to deliver the highest standards of patient care. The PDN is expected to work autonomously and is responsible for supporting ED Nursing Staff to ensure the consistent delivery of evidence based, safe and effective nursing care, infection prevention, safeguarding and patient flow standards within the division.

The role provides direct leadership to ensure that the Charge Nurses, staff nurses and healthcare assistants are supported, allowing them to implement the nursing and quality strategy and provide person-cantered care, meeting the needs of patients and their families.
