Job overview

Come and join us at North West Anglia Foundation Trust Maternity Unit. We deliver nearly 5000 babies at our Peterborough Site and a further 2000 at our Huntingdon Site. We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team of established midwives at the Peterborough Site with the opportunity to rotate to our Huntingdon site.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, calm, kind and innovative midwives to join us at NWAFT Peterborough Maternity Unit. As a NQM you will be given an exceptional preceptorship package of support to grow within your first post as a qualified midwife. In addition we want to welcome applications from more experienced midwives. We currently have a thriving community midwifery team along with a busy triage and outpatient area. In addition we support babies that need more special care within our outstanding Transitional Care unit which enables mothers to stay with their baby throughout supported care. 

Main duties of the job

To assess, implement and evaluate programmes of antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care for women in line with current evidence, Unit policies and guidelines and NMC Midwives’ Rules and Code of Practice.

To develop an environment that supports the value of midwifery care.

To liaise and communicate with other members of the midwifery and multi-disciplinary team in the planning and delivery of care.

To act as an advocate for the women and babies receiving care.
