An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Community Nursing Team for two healthcare assistant to join the team to increase our capacity to support the provision of safe and effective care to patients within the Copeland ICC.
Flexible working is required to meet the needs of the patients group.
The Care Group is commissioned to provide 24/7 nursing services.
Main duties of the job
As a Health Care Assistant in a multi-disciplinary team, work with other health and social care professionals to develop the ethos of multi-disciplinary, integrated care and seamless services ensuring that patient care is delivered to the highest possible standard.
As a Health Care Assistant, working under the direction of a registered health care professional, undertake a range of delegated patient nursing and care duties including clinical observations and recording patient information. This will include supporting patients with personal hygiene and activities of daily living. Catheterisation, venepuncture and supporting with the diabetic caseload.

The Trust is committed to safeguarding adults and children therefore if the post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended) the successful candidate(s) will be subject to a criminal records check with the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). The cost of the DBS must be met by the successful candidate(s) through salary deduction. DBS charges are as follows if applicable to the post:
Standard Check: £18 + Administration cost of £3.85 = £21.85. Deducted at £6.85 from 1st month salary and £5 deducted from salary over following 3 months.
Enhanced Check: £38 + administration cost of £3.90 = £41.90. Deducted at £11.90 from 1st month salary and £10 deducted from salary over following 3 months.

Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Knowledge of community services that support and maintain independence.
- Knowledge of personal care tasks and activities of daily living
- An understanding of how to support, with empathy and encouragement, individuals who may be unwell or have reduced functional capabilities.
- Self awareness and appreciation of own limitations
Experience
Essential criteria
- Able to demonstrate health, social care or rehabilitation experience in a care setting.
Desirable criteria
- Previous experience of working in a team. Able to work with a wide range of people.
Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Care certificate
- Evidence of professional self-development and a willing ness to undertake NVQ Level 3 training.
Desirable criteria
- NVQ Level 2, 3 or equivalent in care
