There has never been a better time to come and work at University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust.  The Trust was formed on 1 July 2018 to bring together our five hospitals – in Derby, Burton, Lichfield and Tamworth – to provide the highest quality care to patients across southern Derbyshire and south east Staffordshire.

With over 12,000 members of staff you can expect huge variety and new opportunities every day! Our staff go above and beyond and take pride in caring for our patients.

University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust is fully committed to promoting inclusion, equality, diversity and human rights in employment and delivery of its services.  The Trust is committed to providing an environment where all employees, patients, carers and visitors experience equality of opportunity by means of understanding and appreciating the value of diversity.

As a Trust we promote an inclusive environment and welcome applications from a diverse pool of talent and backgrounds.  All individuals are valued and given every opportunity to succeed based on merit.

The Trust actively encourages applications from members of our Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic communities. These groups are under-represented in our organisation, and it’s important to us that our workforce reflects the diversity of our communities as much as possible.

Join us and help make a real difference to our Trust.

Here’s more about the role and what we’re looking for;

There has never been a more exciting time to join the dedicated nursing team within the Endoscopy Department at Royal Derby Teaching Hospital.
We are one of the largest single site Endoscopy Departments in the country and serve a population of 1 million, including patients from Derbyshire and Staffordshire.

We provide 7 day service, 3 session days and 24 hour emergency cover to support our Gastroenterologists. Daily activity includes gastroscopy, sigmoidoscopy, colonoscopy, EUS, EMR, ERCP, bronchoscopy, thorocoscopy and Bowel Cancer Screening & Bowel Scope services.

With full JAG accreditation, we see over 20,000 procedures performed annually, and currently have no waiting lists for any patients including, surveillance, routine, urgent, cancer pathways or direct access.
We run 7 rooms, up to 3 sessions daily, with dedicated In Patient lists 7 days a week, 365 days a year and cover on call over night for emergencies, and are supported by a large team of Endoscopists, including Consultant Gastroenterologists, Surgeons and Nurse Specialists.

With our own dedicated Endoscopy Clinical Facilitator, all our staff are trained for all aspects of Endoscopy Nursing and skills are updated on GIN Database.
If you are passionate about patient experience and offer excellent, safe standards, and are excited about working in a forward thinking, fast growing service, we want to hear from you. You will need to be fully flexible, able to work Monday – Sunday and on call.
