An exciting opportunity has arisen for two Band 3 Health Care Assistants to join our team at Mill View Court. 

The successful candidate must be committed, conscientious and motivated and have an empathetic and understanding approach to the people who access our service.  They also need to have an appropriate level of self-awareness,   the ability to use their initiative when working with often complex and challenging situations, and also be a keen team player who is able to ‘look outside of the box’

Experience of mental health services would be preferred, but there will be the opportunity for further development and training as well as supervision, guidance and support.

Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd

This is a fifteen bedded mixed sex unit, based within Castle Hill Hospital;  we  provide assessment, interventions and treatment for working aged adults, experiencing mental health difficulties.

To provide and receive routine information requiring tact, reassurance, empathy and persuasive skills.

To demonstrate a safe level of inter-personal skills when managing individuals with complex needs, accounting for any communication difficulties facing the patient.

To maintain up to date knowledge and skills relevant to 
the field of practice

Work with other colleagues within the relevant area of 
care to further develop a knowledge and understanding of 
relevant legislation and policy e.g. Mental Health Act, 
Vulnerable Adult Policy, The Children’s Act, Valuing 
People and implications of these to patients and their care.

To make judgements around what may or may not be 
significant changes in a patient’s condition, involving 
observation and engagement skills and whether or not to 
report any changes to a registered healthcare 
professional.

To recognise emergency situations and respond 
accordingly.

To undertake basic physical or psychological tests 
recognising and reporting significant findings to a 
registered healthcare professional.
