Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Chemotherapy Team at the Royal Oldham Hospital.

As a Macmillan Chemotherapy Associate Clinical Nurse Specialist you will work as an integral member of the team to provide expert advice and support for patients commencing and undergoing Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT) for solid tumour and haematological cancers. The post holder will administer SACT as part of their daily duties via different administration routes (IV, S/C, oral) using multiple access devices such as IV cannula, CVC, TIVAD, PICC.

S/he will provide specialist nursing knowledge and expertise in the management of patients undergoing SACT to other health professionals. Education and training on SACT will form a large part of this role.

Main duties of the job

 The post holder will work within the team to help facilitate and develop the chemotherapy nursing service within the Northern Care Alliance NHS Group by acting as an ambassador for the chemotherapy clinical nurse specialist team. She/he will provide professional, clinical and innovative care delivery within a multi-professional team.

  • Recognised teaching qualification or working towards

  • Relevant post registration experience at band 5 or above
